Oldham Enterprise Trust and YENO’s annual Inspiring Enterprise Event
Inspire, Educate, Connect was the theme for our Inspiring Enterprise event at Oldham College in October – part of the Oldham Festival for Business
In partnership with The Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Oldham Enterprise Trust and YENO (Youth Enterprise Network Oldham) is building upon its existing programme of work in Oldham and has joined forces Oldham Opportunity Area to give young people from 6 local schools the opportunity to gain career knowledge and guidance from a host of successful local businesses.
80 young people are expected to attend the event on Wednesday 13 October as part of a programme of work delivered by the Rio Ferdinand Foundation and Oldham Enterprise Trust to create opportunities and pathways for young people in Oldham.
The event at Oldham College will provide young people with the opportunity to develop their digital and entrepreneurial skills, join in workshops on enterprise and film making, delivered by the Rio Ferdinand Foundation. Attendees will hear from Rio Ferdinand Foundation ambassador Islam Elbagir Amin Salih, a former Oldham Sixth Form College Student who will share her own experience.
The event will be attended by local businesses including Cornerstone, Ultimate Products, Well Kept, Calculated Performance and Sonia Ayaz Bags amongst others, each speaking about their own experiences, sharing insight and careers guidance, whilst demonstrating their commitment to supporting young people with career progression opportunities.
The event offered different interactive sessions for young people to take part in, to build their skills and knowledge, unleash their entrepreneurial talents and find out about potential careers available to them in the future.
